Now that i look, i’m glad i have my own Uncle Phil (My step-dad). We’ve had our differences but it’s awesome to know i actually have someone who wants me.
Forever reblog. I just met my biological father for the first time recently (nineteen years of separation) and we have since reconciled, but before that I always felt like I was just that mistake he made in high school. Honestly, I didn’t even know if he knew about me. It hurt though. I could never imagine how someone could just abandon their own child. I always told myself that I didn’t need him to become a man (and I didn’t). I have become the person I am today through my own strength and with the rest of my family backing me up. I am my own rock and my own hard place. We’re on speaking terms now, but he lost his chance to be my father when he walked away.
